Hello and welcome to the world of Hat-Hair Illustration, a blog dedicated to my different artistic projects and aspirations. In this blog, I'll ramble on in a fierce and frenzied way about my creative process, illustrations, inspirations, adventures in chain-mailling and the occasional bit about home-brewing mead.
Why "Hat-Hair"? It's simple, really: I like hats and I'm prone to excessive beard growth when the (bad) mood suits me. My "8-bit" avatar above is a pretty accurate representation of some of my more wolf-manish moments.
The blog header was inspired by some of my favorite games from the Nintendo Entertainment System era. There's a nod to an SNES game in there as well. The image started out as nothing more than a little character mapped out on a piece of graph paper...
Once I settled on his design, I imported the image into Adobe Illustrator to finish him off in style. The background is more or less lifted from the designs of Super Mario Bros. It's a good bet that it will change with time. I also intend to animate it...once I learn how!
